Who ate all the gourmet pies? Manchester City sign up Jamie Oliver to provide food for fans

The Blues have signed a five-year deal with his firm Fabulous Feasts to provide matchday food for hungry punters at their Etihad Stadium 

 

Manchester City have made another big name signing – snapping up TV chef Jamie Oliver to provide all their stadium food.
The Blues have signed a five-year deal with the 37-year-old’s food firm Fabulous Feasts, which will see them provide matchday food for hungry punters at their Etihad Stadium.
The deal, which will kick-off in August sees Jamie providing all the food in and around the ground from posh hospitality areas to the fans’ pre-match pies at the City Square fan zone.
But the usual pies and pasties might see some changes on the menu as he is a renowned campaigner and promoter of healthy foods.
Oliver, who shot to fame in the late 90s, is close friends with David Beckham and even owns one of the former United hero’s shirts.
But City supporters need not worry - the only United for him is local team Cambridge United which he is a lifelong fan of.
Tom Glick, City’s chief commercial and operating officer, said: “It is our ambition to create a world class customer experience for everybody who visits the Etihad Stadium.
"We are looking forward to working with these two leading brands as we continue to develop our stadium to achieve this aim.”

“We’ve been in discussions with the club for many months and we now have a dedicated team in place to ensure that the hospitality at the Etihad Stadium is truly something special.”
